Ponte Vedra Beach (at the entrance to the TPC course and across
from the Sawgrass Marriott), this delightful group of shops
meanders in a beautiful lakeside setting. There are boutiques
offering the latest in fashion resort wear, golf equipment,
jewelry, cigars, toys and gifts. Or, you can take in the scenery
from one of the fine restaurants or the coffeehouse. |

Mayport Naval Station |
Since its commissioning in
December 1942, Naval Station Mayport has grown to become the
third largest fleet concentration area in the United States.
Mayport's operational composition is unique, with a busy harbor
capable of accommodating 34 ships and an 8,000-foot runway
capable of handling any aircraft in the Department of Defense
inventory.
Although the Naval Station
at Mayport is not open to the general public, they do arrange
tours for Navy-affiliated youth/student groups on Mondays and
Wednesdays at 10 a.m. based on ship availability. Occasionally
there are special events to which the public is invited. These
are announced in the local media and the naval station's
